Yankten married Rachel Lacher on August 2, 1997.  They resided in Blue Earth.  In December of 2002, their son Riley was born.  Yankten worked for many years in the seed business (corn & soybeans) as a District Sales Manager and Seed Advisor.  Most recently, he owned and operated his own seed business, Anderson Seed Center. When Yankten’s son Riley was in elementary and middle school, Yankten helped coach youth football and youth wrestling.  Yankten had a passion for coaching Riley and his teammates and worked to instill in them the mantra “NGU” (Never Give Up). Family was also very important to Yankten.  He enjoyed spending time with his family up north on Lake Ossawinnamakee and the Whitefish Chain. Yankten felt there was no place better than out on the lake.  Fishing and cruising on the boat always put his mind at ease.  Golfing was also a favorite pastime of Yankten’s.  He always loved playing a round of golf and talking smart with his father-in-law and best bud, John Lacher.  Yankten was a devoted Nebraska Cornhusker football fan, going to many games with his father-in-law, other family, and friends, and got a thrill out of being a part of the “sea of Red” in the stadium.  Yankten also would look forward to family gatherings with the Lacher/Pfaffinger/Wickersham clan. He relished the many games of “Catchphrase” that were played and all of the love and laughter that was shared. Yankten is survived by his wife, Rachel and son, Riley of Blue Earth; parents, John and Chris Anderson of Blue Earth; sister, Tracey (Rick) Bartkowitz of Baxter; maternal grandmother, Florence Kwikkel of Sioux City; in-laws, Karelyn Kark Lacher, John (Deb) Lacher, Kara (Eli) Davis, Mandra (Jon) McCue, Justin (Jenny) Pfaffinger, Emily (Andrew) Lea, Jillian Pfaffinger, Marian Kark, Nadine Wickersham-Krull; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Yankten was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Medford and Lois Anderson; and maternal grandfather, Bill Kwikkel.   Yankten's Memorial Folder
