William M Murphy

Murphy, William M. age 82 passed away peacefully on October 15^th, 2021. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday October 22 at 11AM at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth with Fr. Gregory Parrott officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service and burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Born June 9^th, 1939 in Blue Earth, MN to C.C. and Mary Helen (Meagher) Murphy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daniel (Katherine) Murphy and brother-in-law Tom Carr.  Survived by sister Mimi Carr; children John (Kristine), Mary Sue (Jeff) Rhoda, Molly (Rob) Kukuljan, David (Becki) and Darren; grandchildren MaKenzie and Jake Murphy, Conor (Brooke), Catherine and Anne Marie Rhoda, Danielle and Alexa Kukuljan, Natalie, Anna and Joe Murphy; and great granddaughter Charlotte Rhoda.  He is also survived by 7 grand-dogs.

Upon graduation from Blue Earth High School in 1957 Bill attended the University of Notre Dame where he obtained his business finance degree in 1961.  He served two years in the United States Army before returning to Minnesota.  He recently retired after 58 years in business management and sales.

Bill will be remembered for his devotion to his children’s and grandchildren’s countless sports activities, dedication to the University of Notre Dame, maintaining his longstanding friendships with high school and college classmates, being a proud member of the 1956 Blue Earth state tournament basketball team and his love for dogs.
