Virginia Mehrhof, age 84 of Blue Earth passed away Sunday September 5, 2021, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.
Virginia Lee was the eldest of 4 children, born October 28, 1936, to Glendon and Berniece (Kallestad) Domes in Blue Earth. She graduated from Blue Earth High School and went on to attend St. Olaf College and Mankato Commercial College. She was employed at Faribault County Human Services for many years.
Virginia was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, having held positions in several committees. She had a lovely voice and not only sang in the St. Olaf Choir while attending college; she also sang in her Church Choir as well. Virginia lived her life serving others and served on the Faribault County American Cancer Society Board and the Girl Scouts of America.
Virginia was a sweet lady who loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed playing video games, raising dachshunds, crafting of all kinds, decorating her home for holidays, spending time with her friends, and always looked forward to her weekly bridge club.
She was very intelligent and a tough cookie who survived polio as a very young child.
Grateful for sharing her life is her son, Robert (Lila) Mehrhof and their children, Colton (Emilee) Mehrhof, Calvin (Alyson) Mehrhof and Kyle Mehrhof (fiancé Maddy Dopp). Son, Brian (Lori) Mehrhof and their children, Amanda (Brian) Lannoye, Alex (Tina) Mehrhof, Rebecca Olson, Courtney Mittelstadt and Seth (Kendall) Olson. Three great grandchildren, Olivia, Madalyn, Ella, and one due in January. Brothers Michael (Myra) Domes and Glendon (June) Domes and brother-in-law Darrel Oech. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William and sister Gwen Oech.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service Saturday, October 16th at 11am at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Jeanette Bidne officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Livestreaming of the service can be viewed at www.pattonfh.com
Virginia’s family would like to thank the staff at the Mapleton Community Home and St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth, for taking such wonderful care of their mother. Your kindness and care did not go unnoticed.
