Verna Marie Stindtman,79, died Saturday, May 5th, 2018, with her family by her side at United Hospital District of Blue Earth. Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 235 E. 7th St., with Rev. Jeanette Bidne presiding. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Tuesday, May 8 at Patton Funeral Home, 400 E. 14th St., and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be immediately following the service at Riverside Cemetery of Blue Earth. Verna was born June 14, 1938 in Ethan, South Dakota, the daughter of August and Alice (Dickson) Baumgart. She attended school in South Dakota. On October 19th, 1955 she married the love of her life, Richard Arnold Stindtman. They were married by the Justice of the Peace. Throughout her life, she resided in several different locations including Salem, South Dakota from 1955 - 1957, Holland, Minnesota 1957 - 1960, Amboy Minnesota 1960 - 1969, before settling down in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Verna was the best cook/baker ever. For many a Saturdays she would have her famous Sloppy Joes ready for her family to enjoy at lunch. She was a classy dresser with a great fashion sense. Verna also loved her flowers and had them all throughout her yard She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Verna is survived by her son Todd (Shar) Stindtman of Blue Earth, daughter, Tammy (Darryl) Swenson of Albert Lea, Troy (Michele) Stindtman of Blue Earth, brothers, Melvin (Bud), Denny, DeWayne (Wink), and Dale Baumgart, sisters, Irene Hohn and Karen Berg, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Verna is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, son, Richard Stindtman, parents, brother, Leonard Baumgart, sisters, Dee Smith, Rosella Nielson, Ruthie Spitzer, Betty Kurtenbach, and Sharon Kendall.
