Sharon Sue Mastain (Mensing), 59, of Spring Park, formerly of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 30 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, of Blue Earth, with Fr. Peter Klein officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday, September 29 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Sharon was born on February 1, 1958 to Norbert and Selma Mensing in Blue Earth, MN. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1976. Sharon received a degree in Nursing from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul. She was the school nurse for Blue Earth Area schools for over twenty years and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nurse Education from South Dakota State University. Sharon loved being a school nurse and working with the children and parents. Sharon enjoyed many activities. She loved cooking, boating, family vacations up north, and socializing with her family and many close friends. Sharon is survived by her husband, Steve; children, MaClain Hoyt, Benjamin (Sky Bertelson) Hoyt, and Annemarie Hoyt; step-children, Alison Mastain and Daniel Mastain; grandchildren, Mason and Brantson Hoyt; siblings, Carol Timmons, Michael (Sue) Mensing, Diane McNulty, Dan (Becky) Mensing; and many other loving relatives and close friends. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Tenquist; brother, Marcus Mensing, sister-in-law, Mary Mensing; and brother-in-law, Patrick Timmons.
