Scott Verdoorn

Scott Richard Verdoorn passed away on March 4, 2025 at his home in Blue Earth, MN. He was born on October 4, 1955, to Richard and Norma (Martinson) Verdoorn in Mankato, MN. He grew up in Delavan, MN where he graduated from high school in 1973. After graduating from Mankato State University, he attended the Naval Officer Training School in Newport, Rhode Island. After leaving the Navy, he settled in Blue Earth where he worked at Ron’s Electric Motor Repair in Blue Earth.

Scott is survived by his brother, Jeff Verdoorn of St. Louis Park, MN; sister, Sara (Tim) Boran of Faribault, MN; sister-in-law, Gaylene (Apel) Verdoorn of Idaho Falls, ID; nieces, Allison Boran of Edina, MN; Blair (Arin) Warnemunde of Steamboat Springs, CO; Caitlin Boran of Faribault, MN; Arie (Kayla) Verdoorn of San Marcos, TX; Ethan (Jordan) Verdoorn of Charleston, SC; Madelyn Verdoorn of Boise, ID.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Norma Verdoorn and his younger brother Mark Verdoorn. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Blue Earth American Legion on Thursday, March 13 from 5 to 7 pm.
