Sally (Sarah) Alice Smith

Sally (Sarah) Smith, 99 of Blue Earth passed away Monday July 1, 2019 at St. Luke's Care Center in Blue Earth. A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday July 6, 2019 at Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Jan Redman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Sally was born November 28, 1919 in Burt, IA. As a child Sally moved to Naytahwaush, MN. where her family opened Elk Horn Lake Resort. After the death of her father she returned to Blue Earth where she married Howard Smith, September 17, 1944.  Together they farmed and raised two children on a farm south of Blue Earth. Sally worked at Juba’s and 3 restaurants making her pies. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing and playing cards. Sally is survived by her son Richard Smith (Edie) of Blue Earth, MN and daughter Muriel Krosch (Al) of Surprise, AZ. Grandchildren, Annette Krosch of Golden Valley, MN., Tina Smith of Champagne, IL. Sheri Krosch of Duluth, MN., Ron (Amy) Smith of Blue Earth, MN., and Michael (Lana) Krosch of Savage, MN., and 5 Great Grandchildren, Aaron Weinard of Minneapolis, MN, Courtney (Nick)Howard of Isantis, MN, Addison Smith of Blue Earth, MN, Logan and Ethan Krosch of Savage, MN., sister Barbara Moore and sister-in-law Margaret Curran, both of Blue Earth, MN. Sally was preceded in death by loving husband Howard Smith, parents Harry and Bernice Curran, 7 brothers: Bill, Archie, Daniel, Raymond, Harry, and Walter Curran and 6 Sisters: Ruby Thompson, Silvia McDougall, Edith Hanna, Mary Arjemi, Ike Ficken, Maude Brown and Mable Torres. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope United Methodist Church in memory of Sally are preferred.
