Ronald Stensland

Ronald Stensland (90) of Blue Earth passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato, surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 3, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, MN.

Ronald Wayne Stensland was born on August 18, 1929 to Gustave and Emma (Espe) Stensland. He grew up on the family farm south of Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1947. Ronald served in the U.S. Army from 1952 through 1954 and returned to the family farm after serving his country.

Ronald married Marilyn (Miller) Stensland on April 9, 1960 at Delavan Methodist Church. They raised two sons. They farmed until retiring and moving to Blue Earth in 1992. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, MN. Ronald enjoyed playing cards and gardening. He served on the American Legion Honor Guard for several years.

Ronald is survived by wife Marilyn, sons Alan (Renae) of Flower Mound, TX and Jon of Woodbury, MN, 4 grandchildren Alec, Jacob, Gabrielle, and Abigail, three brothers-in-law and 5 sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, 2 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law, and 4 sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
