Blue Earth

Rhonda G Gustafson, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2024, at Park View Care Center in Wells surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday February 17th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Rev. David Fretham officiating. Visitation will be 5-7PM Friday February 16th at Patton Funeral Home and continue one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth at a later date. Rhonda was born on June 13, 1958, to Walter and Verla (Schwab) Weitzel in Blue Earth. She graduated from Blue Earth Area in 1976, while in high school she enjoyed listening and singing music while accomplishing placing second in state for singing Creedence Clearwater Revivals "Have You Ever Seen the Rain", showcasing her talent.

Beyond her passion for music was her devotion attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events, she was definitely their biggest fan. She also enjoyed gathering with family and friends to watch the Minnesota Vikings play.

Rhonda always looked forward to trips down Apple River, fishing and bike rallies, making memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime, from Geneva, MN to Hot Harley Nights in Sioux Falls, she was always there with a smile on her face.

Rhonda’s true happiness in life was her love and devotion to her family and pride in her grandchildren. Her family often gathered many nights around a campfire telling stories and making so many new memories.

Rhonda was a shining example of dedication and hard work. She earned the admiration of many through her unwavering work ethic, always balancing multiple jobs, yet never failing to make time to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events and family activities. Through the years, she instilled values of perseverance and resilience that inspired all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Alissa Granillo (fiancé Jacob Burgett), son Jason Gustafson, fiancé Jeff Koch and his children Jasmine and Dakota, grandchildren; Austin (Adri), Adrianna, Miya (Andrew), Lilianna, Emanuel, Eliseanna and Noah, great-grandchildren; Josie and Blake, special grandchildren; Kailey, Ava and Addison, mother Verla Weitzel,  sisters; Sharon (Ervin) Harris and Sondra Goodrich, fiancé Ron Miller; nephews; Nathan, Scott and Tyler (Jamie), dear friend Heather Oakland as well as many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her dad Wally and brother-in-law, Kevin Goodrich..

On eagles wings, may she rest peacefully in eternal serenity.
