Philip Allen Besendorf was born February 4, 1939 in Frost, the son of Charles and Christena (Johnson) Besendorf. He passed away on November 26, 2017 at United Hospital, Blue Earth at the age of 78. He was a graduate of Frost High School and joined the US Army in March of 1958, serving in France and Germany with two tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1992. He worked for Shari Candies in Mankato and spent his time doing the many things he enjoyed: Fishing, camping, trap shooting, 4-wheeling and spending time with the family, especially his grandkids. He was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran church in Delavan. He loved to read his Bible and created a legacy for his family of being a Hero and was the epitome of Love. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Minnie Besendorf, of Blue Earth; children, Mary Rosamond of Frost, Paul (Kelly) Besendorf of Danube, David (Petra) Besendorf of Stockstadt, Germany and Marilyn (Mike) Anderson of Blue Earth; grandchildren, Jeff (Christina) Rosamond, Jordan Rosamond, Katelyn Rosamond, Brittney Besendorf, Alexander Besendorf, Travis Sawyer, Andreas (Sandra) Besendorf, Joshua (May) Anderson, Christina Anderson, Joshua Anderson, and several foster grandchildren; One great grandson Cale Anderson; best friends for many years, Harry and Erma Long and many other relatives and friends. Philip is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Charles (Harriett) Besendorf. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, Delavan. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Todd Substad will be officiating. Burial will follow in the United Lutheran Cemetery, rural Frost, with military honors.
