Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you, will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.”
Norman Ray Hall was born on February 23, 1956, in Hammond, Indiana to Floyd and Nora (Shropshire) Hall. He attended and graduated from high school in Crown Point, Indiana. On February 16, 1997, Norm married the love of his life, Michelle Brooks. Together, the couple would settle on their farm property, where Norm would spend countless mornings watching the sunrise. Norm worked for 30 years at KBEW as the News Director. He retired in June 2022.
Norm was a bright light in this world, always helping others. He loved life, and the world was his playground. From watching the sunrise, to mowing the yard, to moving snow, he was always just happy and excited to be here. Norm enjoyed the outdoors and stayed active. He loved talking shop about baseball and football with his kids, grandkids, and Father in-law Lester. Norm also loved hiking, gardening, the color yellow, and most of all, spending time with his family. Music was a big part of his life, quoting song lyrics, attending concerts, and just listening to it. He always had a song and or a lyric for everything. The louder the better.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Michelle; children, Matthew (Kate) Hall, Elizabeth (Anthony) Minor, Cory Hansen, and Trish Matter; 7 grandchildren, Natalie, Whitney, and Courtney Hall, Connor and Aubrey Minor, and Mariah and Dominic Hansen; siblings, Corrine (Warren) Christian, Kathleen Wiley, and Greg (Shari) Hall; and in-laws, Lester and Jane Brooks, Jerry and Heidi Brooks, Matthew and Lisa Brooks, and Kevin Brooks & Terri Kuchenbecker.
Norm is preceded in death by his parents and by his nephew, Joshua Hall.
If you got a chance, take it, take it while you got a chance.
If you got a dream, chase it, ‘cause a dream won’t chase you back.
If you’re gonna love somebody Hold’em as long and as strong and as close as you can,
‘Til you can’t (Lyrics and author Cody Johnson)
