Nina Jean Kriewall

Nina Kriewall, age 87 of Arnolds Park, IA and formerly of Blue Earth, MN passed away Thursday December 6, 2018 at the United Hospital District. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, December 10 at Patton Funeral Home 400 E. 14^th St. Visitation will be 11-1 on the same day. Reverend Matthew Lorfeld and Reverend David Simonson will officiate the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com

Nina Jean Reifsteck was born March 13, 1931 in Blue Earth, MN to Melvin and Luella (Paschke). She was one of six children, graduating from Blue Earth High School in 1949.

On May 20, 1950 she married the love of her life, Frederick “Fritz” Kriewall. Together they raised three children, while running a family business where Nina was the office manager for 65 years. She also held jobs at Klatt’s Motor Co., Green Giant, and Frundt, Frundt & Johnson Law Firm.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church since 1950, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Aid Society and the Missionary League, she also played the hand bells.

In 1996, Nina and Fritz moved to Arnolds Park, there they attended Immanuel Lutheran Church, and Nina took part in the quilting group. Nina also enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, reading, embroidering, and her six years as a Girl Scout leader.

Nina is survived by her children; Scott Kriewall (special friend Kandy Blondin) of Blue Earth, Bernie Kriewall of Blue Earth and Cynthia (Sonny) Morgan of Arnolds Park. Granddaughters; Suzanne (Nick) Kern, Paige (Kevin) Lavallias, Ashley Kriewall, Brooke (Luke) Schultz, and Leah (Brad) Swenson. Eight great-grandchildren, brother, James Reifsteck, sister, Eleanor Younger, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Fritz, her parents, brothers; Warren and William and her sister, Joanne Dickman.
