Muriel Burkhart

Muriel Burkhart, age 70 of Blue Earth passed away Sunday November 20, 2022 at St. Luke’s Care Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 26, 2022 at St. Luke’s Care Center Chapel at 11AM with Rev. Dan Foster officiating. Burial will be at Ramsey Reformed Cemetery in Titonka, IA. Muriel Mae was born April 2, 1952 to Werner and Laura (Kline) Burkhart in Buffalo Center, IA, the only daughter of 5 children. She graduated in 1971 from Titonka. After graduation, she met and married Tom Oudekerk and moved to Albert Lea where they lived for several years. They later divorced and Muriel moved back to Blue Earth where she worked as a housekeeper at the AmericInn until her stroke in 2011. Muriel was a very independent woman, was friendly and helpful to everyone she met. She enjoyed quilting, talking on the phone to family and friends and making jewelry.

She is survived by her brothers; Vernon of Armstrong, IA, Verlus (Sharon) of Fairmont, Arvin (Sharon) of Algona, IA and Shorty (Patti) of Dolliver, IA as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts and uncles and sister-in-law Patty Burkhart.
