Mary A. Fenske

August 15, 1934 — October 28, 2020

Mary A. Fenske, age 86 of Bricelyn, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. A private family graveside service was held at Riverside Cemetery.

Mary was born on August 15, 1934 in Verona Township to Carl and Alice (Marquardt) Leach. She attended school in Blue Earth. Mary then worked as a switchboard operator at Blue Earth Valley Telephone Company. She married Floyd R. Fenske on April 6, 1955 in rural Blue Earth. The couple together would travel to different military bases Floyd was stationed at, before settling in Bricelyn.

Mary was a great homemaker. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, and baking. She even entered and won three recipe contests. Mary also enjoyed canning and making jellies and jams. She was an avid gardener. Mary loved watching high school basketball and cheering on her family members. She loved her kids and grandkids dearly.

Mary is survived by her children, Cheryl (Cecil) Keithahn of Blue Earth, Beth (Loren) Selvig of St. Louis Park, Todd Fenske of Bricelyn, and Jayson (Sue) Fenske of Wabasso; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Darrel Leach of Grant Park, IL, Mae Jean Zierke of Blue Earth, and June Bleess of Blue Earth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her mother and father, and sister, Carol Stanton.
