Marvin Boettcher, of Blue Earth, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. He was 81 years old.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11 AM St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Elmore with Pastor Michael Klatt officiating. Visitation from 930AM until the time of service. Graveside will be at the church cemetery. The funeral will be video recorded and broadcast on the funeral home website after the service has ended. Marvin Arthur Boettcher was born on June 16, 1940 to Art and Luella (Kuchenbecker) Boettcher in Blue Earth. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran church, rural Elmore. Marv married Betty Irving on June 11, 1960 and had many years together until her tragic passing in 1979. He then married Carol Runge July 12, 1980. He was a farmer for 29 years and a family man, raising his children and loving them no matter what. Throughout his working days, he did many construction projects and helped many people with his skills as a carpenter. His faith and family were most important to him. He enjoyed each relationship that he had with people. He loved going out to eat especially celebrating his birthday at the Branding Iron in Thompson, IA. Marv will be remembered for his heart-of-Gold and his incredible sweet tooth.
Marv is survived by his wife Carol Boettcher; children, Dennis (significant other Rose Freitag) Boettcher of Albert Lea, Tamara (Jon) Cheney of Farmington, Todd (Cassie) Boettcher of Albert Lea, David (Julie Ohm) Boettcher of Blue Earth, Greg (Michelle) Boettcher of Albert Lea, Kelly Boettcher of Mankato; many grandkids, many many great grandkids; sisters Marilyn Sweet and Margaret Nagel; brother Mervil Boettcher; siblings-in-law, Mary (George) Huber of Elmore, John Irving of Colorado, Sandy Classon of Blue Earth, Pat (Kim) Irving of Colorado and Linda (Rick) Royse of Michigan; many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty; brother Melvin Boettcher and in-laws, Thomas and Ruth Irving.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
