Marva Russell, age 97 of Blue Earth passed away Saturday April 10, 2021 at Lakeview Care Center in Fairmont. A private family funeral service will be held Monday April 19, 11am at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Rev. Lee Miller officiating. A public visitation will be held from 9:30-11am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
Marva Jeanette was born February 14. 1924 to Elmer and Louise (Pearl) Hartman in Amboy, MN. After high school she attended cosmetology school in Mankato to become a beautician. On September 19, 1948 she married the love of her life, Bob Russell. They moved to Blue Earth in 1948 where they raised their children and Marva worked as a beautician with her sister at a beauty shop in Winnebago for several years. In 1989 she went to work for the school district as a cook. Marva enjoyed dancing (Polka) with Bob, being a part of card clubs, traveling in their motorhome to Branson and the west coast as well as tending to her flower garden, sewing and crocheting. She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church and was involved in Circle and taught Sunday School.
Left to cherish such wonderful memories are her children; Dale (Francine) Russell of Blue Earth, Bobby Russell of Blue Earth, Susan Immens of Sherburn and Steven (Cookie) Russell of Waseca. Six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Marva was the last survivor of both sides of her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marva’s memory to Hope United Methodist Church or UHD Hospice are preferred.
