Maria Teresa de Jesús Torres de Granados

May 5, 1946 - January 2, 2025

Maria Teresa de Jesús Torres de Granados, 78, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by family and prayers in her hometown.

Teresa was born on May 5, 1946, in San Pedro de Las Colonias, Coahuila, Mexico, to Maria Luisa and Ines Torres. She attended school in her home country, where she discovered her extraordinary talent for cooking. Her legendary Mexican tamales were a cherished highlight of annual garage sales and beloved by all who tasted them.

Teresa's life journey brought her to work in several factories in Texas and Iowa, and she also served as a cook at the restaurant Las Tortugas. Despite her busy life, she always found time to nurture her passions. As a young woman, she tended lovingly to her garden, cultivating vibrant flowers and plants. She loved dancing and had a mesmerizing singing voice, which graced church services and uplifted those around her.

A devout Catholic, Teresa exemplified faith and service. Alongside her late husband, Ricardo Granados, she faithfully attended daily Mass and actively served her community. Her prayers were a constant source of strength, offered selflessly for the health and happiness of her loved ones.

Teresa will be lovingly remembered by her children: Zoila Sandra Duwenhoegger, Martin Granados Sr. (wife Maria E. Granados), Sergio Granados, and Maria L. Petersen (husband Shane Petersen). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Gricel Tetzloff (husband Daniel Tetzloff), Jerry Duwenhoegger, Reyna Duwenhoegger, Martin Granados Jr., Emmanuel Granados, Ricky Petersen, and Mia Petersen.

Teresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Reyna Carmela Granados, her parents, and her beloved husband, Ricardo Granados.

Teresa's life was defined by love, faith, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. She is now reunited with her husband Ricardo Granados, the love of her life, in eternal peace.

Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Duwenhoegger, Martin Granados Jr., Emmanuel Granados, Ricky Petersen, Daniel Tetzloff, and Kaleb Wilfahrt.
