LeRoy Walter Thomas

LeRoy Thomas passed away on June 23, 2018 at the age of 71, with his family by his side.  A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018, from 1-3 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth.

         LeRoy “Lee” Thomas was born on August 28, 1946, to Herbert and Dora (Witthuhn) Thomas in Blue Earth, Minnesota.  He was united in marriage to Anita Shields on April 4, 1970.  Lee installed floor coverings for 30 years in the Blue Earth area and was the owner of Lee’s Country Carpets until his retirement in 2009.  Lee and Anita opened their home and hearts to over 150 children in the foster care system for 37 years. He enjoyed working in his shop, raising livestock and spending time with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his big heart.

         Survivors include his wife Anita; six sons, Nate, Chris, Juan, Victor, A.J. and Tate; one daughter Diana and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
