Laura Colvin

Laura Mae Colvin passed away on January 15, 2025 at the Fairmont Hospice in Fairmont, MN. She was 92 years old. Laura, daughter of Arthur Hare and Mina Bailey Hare, was born on January 6, 1933, in Fayette, IA. She attended school in West Union IA.and graduated in the class of 1949. After helping her father on the farm, she went to West Union and worked at Humfrey Dairy, where she met Hartley Colvin.They married on February 17, 1951.This marriage produced three children, Dorothy Colvin, Douglas (Melissa) Colvin, Dawn (Roque) Gonsalez. She worked at Chamberlain Mfg. where she made shell casings for the military. Upon retiring, she lived in Waterloo, IA. and most recently with her daughter Dawn in Winnebago, MN. She enjoyed making Christmas cookies and candy for family and friends, she loved to sew, do embroidery, and plastic canvas. She enjoyed her many pets over the years, but her most favorite was her beloved Charlie, her most recent dog.

Laura is proceeded in death by her father, Arthur, mother, Mina, and all her seven siblings, her husband Hartley, and her daughter Dorothy.
