Karen was born on July 18, 1961 in Wells to Vernon and Marjorie (McCarthy) Schultz. She attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School through 8th grade and graduated from Wells High School. On May 14, 1983, Karen married Doug Nave at the catholic church in Easton. The couple moved to their farm site outside of Elmore in 1991 and raised their family there. Together, Karen and Doug owned and operated Double Play Sports Bar and Grill.
Karen enjoyed spending time outdoors. She was an avid gardener, frequently tending to her flower beds and rock gardens. She kept her home tidy and took great pride in it. She also enjoyed golf and scrapbooking. But Karen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her husband, children, and granddaughter dearly.
Karen is survived by her husband, Doug; 3 children, Dan (Becky) Nave of Bricelyn, D.J. Nave (Emily Anderson) of Buffalo Center, and Deidra Nave of Elmore; one granddaughter, Rhea Nave; brothers, Steve Schultz of Easton and Ron (Christine) Schultz of Easton; sister, Sharon (Mark) Obermeyer of Kiester; and sister-in-law, Judy (Al) Willette of Green Plains, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law.
