Josephine Geraldine Carlson

Josephine Geraldine Huisman Carlson, 95, passed away on January 14, 2025, at Blue Earth United Hospital. Josephine was born February 26, 1929, to John and Grace (Kuhlman) Huisman in Winnebago County, Iowa. She moved with her family to Frost, MN in 1935, and graduated from Frost High School in May 1946. After graduating she attended a summer teacher’s training at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, then taught in a one room schoolhouse in Winnebago County, Iowa. Jo married Archie Carlson in 1949. She was also employed at Telex in Blue Earth for 24 years. As a member of United Lutheran Church in Frost, Jo served on many committees. She is survived by two daughters, Trudy (Don) Anderson of Webster City, Iowa, and Sherry (Craig) Cooksley of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. One granddaughter, Thea Lura and her two children Elsa and Roman Harrell of New Albany, Indiana. One brother, John Huisman of Blue Earth and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Archie, her parents, and her four sisters and brother-in-laws, Annette (Palmer) Eckhart, Betty (Bill) Dueser, Darlene (Richard) Johnson, Frances (Charles) Krinkie, and sister-in-law, Joan Rustad Huisman.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth with Rev. Aaron Evenson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at United Lutheran Cemetery in Frost.

Memorials are preferred to go to United Lutheran Church in Frost.
