John Allen Gray, 78, formerly of Winnebago, MN, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Care Center in Blue Earth. John was a fun loving, full of jokes man who loved all things tractors, trains, traveling, church, Tuesday nights at Jake's Pizza, the good company of friends and family, and especially his Honda Gold Wing. Following a private service, public visitation will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 12 pm to 3pm at Patton Funeral home in Blue Earth, MN. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com
Born July 26, 1943, to Donald and Hildegard “Babe” (Lehman) Gray, John was the middle of 3 children. Winnebago graduating class of ’61, John soon after, graduated as an electronic technician before enlisting in the Air Force. He married the love of his life and caring nurse Judith “Judy” Kline on July 6, 1968. The couple raised one daughter, Tamara “Tammy” and spent many wonderful years together before Judy’s tragic passing in ’96. John was remarried in 1997 and separated in 2020.
John was a long-time employee of Telex while also helping farmer friends in the busy seasons and was technical support for Judy in her years running H&R Block. John was an active member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, the Methodist church, and for several years worked helping Interfaith Caregivers.
John is survived by his daughter Tammy (Todd) Levenhagen of Blue Earth, grandchildren JyLessa, Jolane, Jayden, Seth and Shane; stepsons Ed (Tanya) Vogel, grandson Dustin; Nick (Amanda) Vogel, granddaughters Alexis and Emma; sister Mardell (Dennis) Wegleitner.
John is preceded in death by his wife Judy, parents, his brother Paul and sister-in-law Naomi Gray.
