Jerry Snyder, age 85 of Blue Earth passed away Thursday January 26, 2023 at St. Luke's Care Center in Blue Earth. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday May 20, 2023 at the MTS Farm & Event Center (38826 95th St. Blue Earth) from 2-5pm. Burial will be held at a later date.
Jerry was born March 24, 1937 in Elmore, MN to Clifford and Emma (Borack) Snyder. He attended Elmore school and graduated in 1955. From there he attended the University of MN. In January of 1958, he married Marjorie Regan. Together they raised 4 children. Marjorie passed away in 2004.
On January 30, 2007 he married Betty Evans Huber. She had three children and together with Jerry’s children, they always considered themselves one family.
Jerry owned and operated Snyder Electric in St. Louis Park, MN for 45 years. The business covered eleven states and was an integral part of helping with the construction of Perkin’s restaurants and Caribou Coffee’s. He did a lot of traveling for work and made many friends along the way. He often treated his employees and their families to trips up to Temple Bay Canada. Because he was on the road so frequently, he had a swimming pool put in their backyard for the kids and neighbors to use.
When not working, Jerry enjoyed traveling with his family, spending many summers at Vagabond Village in Park Rapids, 13 winters in Arizona with Betty and in 2007 they spent a month in Alaska, taking in the sights and wildlife. Jerry will always be remembered for his generosity and having such a caring heart. Family and friends were so important to him.
Left to cherish such wonderful memories are his wife Betty of Blue Earth, children; Stephanie (Stuart) Hautala of Ramsey, MN, Michael Snyder of Olathe, KS, Pat (Karin) Snyder of Elk River, MN, Aimee (Joel) Tiedt of Hanover, MN, Rocky (Brenda) Huber of Elmore, MN, John (Delilah) Huber of Kerrville, TX and Tamy (Wayne) Tvedten of Elmore, as well as 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marjorie and his siblings Jim, Jack and Janice Hidem.
