Helen "Pat" Souba

October 7, 1934 — November 16, 2019

Helen Patricia (Pat) Souba, age 85, of Blue Earth passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Fairmont, MN. A memorial service will be held at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11am with Fr. Andrew Beerman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Pat was born on Oct. 7, 1934 in Napoleon, ND to Pius & Margaret (Bitz) Rohrich.  She moved to Minneapolis in the early 1950’s, working as a switchboard operator at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Pat was married to Russell Souba on Nov. 3, 1956 and together they raised 5 children.  After several years in Minneapolis, they moved to Albany, MN where she was a homemaker.  In 1976, the family moved to Blue Earth, MN where Pat worked at Telex, Mensing’s & retired at age 77 from Kerry Foods.  She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church.  She enjoyed cooking & baking and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  She loved unconditionally and caring for her family was her priority in life.  Pat is survived by her 5 children: Karen (Craig) Hougen, Blue Earth; Diane (Mitch) Murphy, Blue Earth; Kevin (Miriam) Souba, Newport News, VA; Mark (Kim) Souba, Chaska, MN; Kathleen (Jon) Bastianelli, Tempe, AZ.  Thirteen grandchildren: Bridget (Justin) Pavlish, Josh (Jada) Hougen, Jeff Hougen, Tara (Travis) Shuput, Lindsey (Steven) Delizza, Betsy (Jason) Maston, Fletcher Souba, Madeleine Souba, Sarah Harvell, Sam Souba, Alissa (Kurt) Tesmer, Katherine (Nathan) Schlangen, Connor Souba.  Seventeen great-grandchildren.  Sister Marge Duvall, brother-in-law Marvin Souba, & many nieces & nephews.  Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Russell (2008), her parents, & siblings: Wendlin, Ann, Katherine, Mike, Rochus, Pius, Elizabeth, Joann, & Florence.
