Gerry Gansmoe

March 23, 1930 — December 5, 2020

GERALDINE “GERRY” GANSMOE, age 90, of Blue Earth, died peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. She was surrounded by her loving family and received excellent care from Dr. Aaron Johnson and the nursing staff. A private family funeral service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. Reid Ellis, officiating. Gerry was born March 23, 1930, in Blue Earth, MN, the daughter of Michael and Hattie (Gottberg) Schobert. She was raised and educated in Blue Earth where she graduated in 1948. She was married to Eugene “Gene” Gansmoe on June 9, 1950 in Blue Earth. Gerry was a homemaker and a devoted technical employee of Telex for 28 years until retirement. She was a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was known for her love of cooking and spending time with her husband dancing and volunteering at the VFW and American Legion for social events. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, following the MN Twins and having coffee and good conversation with friends. Her greatest joy was time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gerry is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Steve) Anderson of Blue Earth, her son, Steve (Marinda) Gansmoe of Woodbury, her grandchildren, Brooke (Luke) Schultz of Fairmont, MN, Leah (Brad) Swenson of Columbus, MN, Brooke Anderson of Richfield, MN, Dan Anderson of Cameron Park, CA, Taylor (Nick) Weiss of Janesville, WI, Tiarra (fiancé Kevan Kent) Gansmoe and Tanner Gansmoe of Woodbury, MN and great grandchildren: Vincent Schultz and Gwyneth Schultz of Fairmont, MN & Elsa Swenson, Micah Swenson, Johan Swenson, and Colin Swenson of Columbus, MN. Also surviving are her brother Albert Schobert, several nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 wonderful years, Gene Gansmoe, her parents, sisters, Marie (Fred) Ludtke, Elsie Schobert, Florine (Wilbur) Buss, Pearl (Al) Tranby, Margaret (Harold) Raines, Laura (Marvin) Bonn, Audrey (Bill) Myers, and brother, Harry Schobert.
