Everett Wessels, 86 of Blue Earth passed away Tuesday August 6, 2019 at The Beacon in Mapleton. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday August 12 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Lorfeld officiating. Visitation will be Sunday August 11th from 5-7pm at Patton Funeral Home 400 E. 14th St. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
Everett Clarence Wessels was born March 4, 1933 to Carl and Emma (Hundt) Wessels in Blue Earth. He graduated from high school in 1951 and then did a short stint in the Army from 1953-1955. He met and married Jean Hoel, the love of his life on April 9, 1955 in the Belgrade Ave Methodist Church in North Mankato, MN. Honey mooned in Galveston, TX.
His passions in life included fishing, farming, and spending time with his family. He loved to fly his Mooney! He was very involved in the community and church. He was on the Executive Board of Directors for the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative in Renville, MN.
Everett is survived by his soulmate Jean “she was always the most beautiful woman in the room”, his children Michael of Chico, CA; Mark (Deb) of Crosslake, MN and MerriLynn of Blue Earth. Grandchildren, Blayne Wessels; Mercedes Wessels; Jason Myhran and Autumn Thull. Five great grandchildren, Lilix, Zep, Kaia, Luna and Charlotte as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Irene Manske, and brother Henry Wessels.
