Elsie Louise Imm, age 98, of Blue Earth, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Parkview Care Center in Wells, MN. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Blue Earth, MN, with Rev. Lorfeld and Rev. Sabol presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Elmore, MN. Online condolences may be left at www.pattonfh.com. Elsie was born on July 15, 1919 to Erich Eggers and Mary Dirks in Rigby, Idaho. At eighteen months, her father moved the family to Langworthy, IA. Elsie lived with her aunt, Martha Eggers Balster until her 19th birthday when she moved to Guckeen, MN with John and Anna (Eggers) Haak. Elsie graduated as Valedictorian in 1942 from East Chain High School. After high school, she attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a B.S. degree in Nursing and Public Health in 1947. She worked as a Nurse’s Cadet while working towards her degree. On June 10, 1949, Elsie married Bernard Imm of Elmore, MN. Bernard and Elsie announced their adoption of Thomas B. Imm (born on November 27, 1956) in December of 1956. Their daughter, JoAnn, was born on January 18, 1959. In 1963, the Imm family moved to Blue Earth because Bernard became the Faribault County Sheriff. For twelve years, Elsie managed the home and food preparation for the inmates of the Faribault County Jail. She worked as the Faribault County Public Health Nurse for nine years after Bernard’s retirement. Elsie is survived by her children, Thomas Imm and JoAnn (Kenneth) Stewart; grandchildren, Jason (Amber) Murra, John (Katrina) Stewart, Danae (David Kenyan) Stewart; great grandchildren, Jacob Lempkie and Cameron Murra, and many other loving relatives and friends. Elsie is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; one brother; and three sisters.
