Ellen J. Sunken

Ellen J. Sunken, age 70, of Blue Earth, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, August 23, 2021 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Visitation times will be on Sunday from 5-7pm at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.

Ellen Jean was born on December 14, 1950 in Windom to Walter and Ida (Guggenburger) Casey. She attended and graduated from Granada High School. Ellen worked for 33 years at 3M in Fairmont. She was married to Garry Sunken on February 25, 1971. The couple lived in the area all their life and raised their two children here.

Ellen was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic church, and taught religion classes for several years. She was also active in Boy Scouts. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. Ellen especially enjoyed time with her family and grandkids.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Garry; daughter, Renee (Jeramy) Nagel of Blue Earth; son, Shannon Sunken of Blue Earth; grandchildren, Dalton, Arianna, and Aubree Nagel and Davis and Kyren Sunken; brother, Ron (Pam) Casey of Imogene; sister, Kathy (Jamie) Bolsinger of Hackensack; and brother-in-law, Ralph Cronk of Fairmont.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Cronk; and an infant baby boy.
