Duane Vanderford, age 90 of Blue Earth passed away Tuesday October 5, 2021 at St. Luke’s Care Center. A funeral service will be held Friday October 8th 3pm at Patton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Roettger officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com
Duane Gerald was born September 3, 1931 to Gordon and Emelia (Ihle) Vanderford in Des Moines, IA. He served his country in the US Army from 1952-1954. He married Bonnie Snook in 1953. To this union they were blessed with three girls. They later divorced. He then married Fern Behnke on January 3, 1966, he gained four boys and together they had a daughter to complete their family. Duane enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the American Legion. He worked on the railroad for many years. Above all, his love for family and friends always came first.
Duane is survived by his sons, Harlan (Carol) Ward of Le Seur and Gordon (Sharon) Ward of Mankato; daughters, Debbie (Earl) Kvittem of Winona, Dixie (David) Ruppert of Winona, Darlys (Bob) Krulish of Rochester and Kathy (David) Neswold of Stewartville; brother, Darold (Arlene) Vanderford of Fairmont, numerous grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Fern, his parents, brother Donald Vanderford, stepsons Gene Ward and Roger Ward.
