Doris Mae Mikkelson

Doris Mae Mikkelson, age 101, of Elmore, Minnesota, passed away on September 6, 2017 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth.  Funeral Service will be at 11AM on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Shiloh Lutheran Church of Elmore, MN, with Rev. Robert Roettger presiding.  Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.pattonfh.com. Doris was born on May 3, 1916 in Elmore, MN, the daughter of John and Wilma (Smith) Clark.  She was the second eldest child having two brothers, Bud and Dean, and two sisters, Lucille and Carmen.  Doris graduated from Elmore High School in 1933.  On May 26, 1934, she married Curtis Mikkelson.  That union produced 2 children, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.  Doris worked as a clerk and buyer for several retail businesses in Elmore and Blue Earth.  She was an active member of Shiloh Lutheran Church and held numerous offices within the church.  Doris enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, playing her favorite game, Rummikub, and being with family and friends. Doris is survived by her daughter, Mavis Stenzel of Elmore, MN; son, Dean (Cheri) Mikkelson of Mt. Vernon, MO; brother, Dr. Dean Clark of Owatonna, MN; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; brother, Dr. Bud Clark; sisters, Lucille Brekkus and Carmen Klatt; son-in-law, Myrl Stenzel; sister-in-laws, Rita Clark and Betty Clark; and brother-in-law, Virgil Klatt.            Memorials are preferred to Shiloh Lutheran Church of Elmore, MN and St. Luke’s Auxiliary of Blue Earth, MN.  Doris's Memorial Folder
