Dannie Lee Nelson

Dannie Nelson, 82 of Blue Earth passed away Thursday November 28, 2019 at Mayo Clinic-Albert Lea. A funeral service will be held Wednesday December 4^th at 11am at United Lutheran Church in Frost with Rev. Arne Halbakken officiating. Visitation will be 5-7pm Tuesday December 3^rd at Patton Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.

Dannie Lee Nelson was born February 18, 1937 to Theodore and Dorothy (Scott) Nelson in Estherville, IA. He graduated from Frost High School Class of 1955 and entered the Navy as an electrician on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph. After marrying the love of his life, Audrey (Langsev), they moved to Estherville IA, where he was in business with his father Ted in Nelson Dairy delivering dairy products to the country. Nelson Dairy was sold to Wells Blue Bunny where he advanced into being a route supervisor for the Spirit Lake region. Getting his pilot’s license, he volunteered with the local EMT service and Boy Scouts. He sold cars then headstones and eventually returned to farming and raising their two children. When he found any spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.

He is survived by his adoring wife Audrey of Blue Earth; son Greg (Cindy) Nelson of Frost; daughter Pam (Randy) Anderson of Bricelyn; grandchildren Andrew (Esther) Nelson, Nicholas (Samantha) Olson, Heather (Adam) Hernandez, Angela (Jason) Murphy and Stephanie (Trey) Dyslin; great-grandchildren Tiffany Hernandez, Gracelyn Murphy, Johnathan Nelson, Lonnie Nelson, Conrad Hernandez, Camden Murphy, Justis Blackdeer, Cadence Nelson and Everly Murphy; sisters Dorie (Dean) Oswald of Mount Ida, AR and Gayle (Jim) Meehan of Riverside, CA; brother-in-law Lawrence (Edith) Langsev of Albert Lea and sister-in-law Rochelle Langsev of Edina.

Dannie is preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Palmer and Lila Langsev and his brother-in-law Woody Langsev.
