Connie Rae Distad

Connie Distad, age 73 of Mankato and formerly of Blue Earth passed away Saturday February 8, 2020 at Mayo Health System-Mankato. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday February 14 at Patton Funeral Home 400 E. 14^th St. Blue Earth with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. Patton Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Connie Rae was born June 6, 1946 in Blue Earth, MN to Ralph and Letha (Swingdorf) Stewart. She grew up in the area with her siblings and later married LeRoy Distad who passed away in 1999. She and LeRoy owned and operated LeRoy’s Bar & Grill for several years and she also worked at Telex while raising two children.

Connie always put others first but her family, especially her grandkids, were the center and joy of her life. She always made a point to attend their sporting events and school activities, making memories that will live on forever, like watching Hallmark movies, baking, putting together puzzles and playing games and making the holidays a special time for everyone. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her sister in California, shopping, playing bingo and other card games.

She is survived by her loving children; Rick (Diane Holmgren) of Roseville and Renae (Rory) Kopischke of Mankato, her adoring grandchildren; Hannah and Lauren Distad and Alexis and Landon Kopischke, brother Tom (Annette) Stewart and sister Donna (Chalk) Torres, brother-in-law; Duane (Debbie) Distad, sisters-in-law Joan (Harlan) Hall and Lorna (Ronnie) Distad.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Dick and brothers-in-law Chalk and Ronnie.
