Christine Elizabeth Henke, age 32 of Blue Earth passed away Thursday September 2, 2021 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held Wednesday September 8th at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Lorfeld officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday September 7th from 4-7PM at Patton Funeral Home.
Christine was born August 9, 1989 to Dale and Lynda (Gaylord) Henke in Blue Earth. She graduated from Blue Earth High School in 2007. She was very active in school and in the community, she participated in cross country, gymnastics, and track. Her long legs brought her to state track all her high school years and she still holds the high jump record. Not only was she very athletic, but a scholar as well. She was in the National Honor Society and graduated with high honors. And to top that off, she was musically talented, playing the piano and the flute. When she wasn’t being a well-rounded student, she worked at Juba’s and St. Luke’s where she made many friends and memories. After high school she went on to get her BSN from Mankato State in 2012. She held several jobs in the nursing field but enjoyed home health the most. Christine was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, she also played the piano and taught Sunday School there.
She was a very loving and devoted mother, very determined, always put others first and an avid animal lover. Family was who she held closest to her heart. The family that is left to cherish memories of such a beautiful and talented young woman are her daughter Layla, significant other Thane Nowak, her parents Dale and Lynda, all of Blue Earth. Her grandparents; Gerald Henke and Joyce Gaylord, aunts and uncles; Glenn (Janet) Gaylord, Steven (Nancy) Henke, Craig (Robin) Henke, Christine (Dave) Henke-Kvasnicka and Jon (Erica) Henke as well as many cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her angel baby, grandparents, Lloyd Gaylord and Evelyn Henke and her uncle David Henke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
