Charles Oliver Willette, age 77, of Delavan, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home. Visitation time will be from 3:00pm-5:00pm Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and one hour before the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Peter Klein officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com Chuck was born March 23, 1941, in Winnebago, MN, the son of Weldon and Teresa (Schimek) Willette. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1959. Following high school, he joined the Army National Guard. On November 28, 1964, he married Lucille Marie Fausch at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. They made their home on the farm in Delavan, where they continued to run the family farm. Chuck was a family man being a proud father to six children, while he and Lucille maintained an open door policy for many foster children through the years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Gophers, Vikings, Twins and Lynx. Chuck also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially when they would visit the farm. Chuck is survived by his wife, Lucille Willette of Delavan, children, Joel Willette of Watertown, SD, Janel Willette of Carmel, CA, Karmin (Steve) Corkery of Chanhassen, Chuck (Cindy) Willette of Stamford, CT, Jenae Willette of Mankato, Jake Willette of Blue Earth, brother, Dave (Eleanor) Willette of Maple Plain, sisters, Mary Willette, SSND of Bloomington, Barb (Mike) Zins of Waconia, Terry Fleetham of Edina, Janet Janicke of Coon Rapids, and seven grandchildren, Caitlin, Megan, Peyton, Fiona, Alayna, Cayden and Milan. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris Schroer, brothers-in-law Robert Schroer, Alfred Janicke, and Jim Fleetham. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
