Bruce Peterson, age 74 of Frost passed away Friday July 10, 2020 at his home with his loving family at his side.
A private family burial will take place Monday July 13. A public drive through visitation will be Friday July 17 from 4-8pm at the Peterson home (5931 490th Ave. Frost).
Bruce was born on August 26, 1945 in Frost, MN to D. Burton Peterson and Canthy (Carlson) Peterson. He was raised on a farm just outside of Frost. Bruce was the oldest of three kids, Diane (Peterson) Bittiker (Los Gatos, CA) and Craig Peterson (Chanhassen, MN). He attended and graduated from Frost High School.
He then married Connie (Greimann) on April 7, 1968. They were blessed with 5 children, Kim (Tom) Johnson of Minnesota Lake, MN, Jeff (Staci) Peterson of Thompson, IA, Barb (Joe) Anderson of Blue Earth, MN, Ryan (Markie) Peterson of Las Vegas, NV, and Erin (Tramell) Wilson of Frost, MN. He was a loving grandpa to 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Bruce loved to farm, whether it was on the wheat harvest in Kansas or soybeans and corn in Minnesota he was always in either a combine or a tractor. One of his favorite hobbies was to buy and sell farm equipment, or going to sales and auctions. When he wasn’t at an auction or in the field he was at Julie’s Bar and Grill in Frost, having breakfast or lunch with the guys catching up on the farm gossip. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren out on the farm. He enjoyed taking them on gator rides and teaching them to mow the lawn. He especially enjoyed eating popsicles with them on a hot summer day after picking rocks out of a field. Bruce was a caring man that would do anything for anyone. He was a jokester at times, and could always make anyone smile. He loved to give everyone in the family unique nicknames, while eating homemade peanut butter cookies with a Diet Dr. Pepper. Bruce will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him. He will live on in the hearts of many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Anderson; father-in-law, Rollo Greimann; mother-in-law, Phyllis Greimann; and his brother-in-law, Barry Greimann.
