Beverly Jean O’Connor, age 77, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family in Elmore, MN, on Monday, April 16, 2018 from ovarian cancer. A Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth, MN. A Graveside Service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery of South Saint Paul at 1PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Beverly was born March 30th, 1941 in Saint Paul, MN, the daughter of William Penning and Hildegarde (Ferber) Luff. Beverly graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1959 and attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. On September 14th, 1985, Beverly married James O’Connor. Tragically, Jim passed away in June of 1986, just nine short months after they wed. Beverly worked in the automotive and trucking industries as a Controller and Office Manager in Albert Lea. She drove truck for several years and was able to see many beautiful places across the United States. Bev was an avid reader, loved singing and spending time with her family. In her final days, visits and calls from her grand-daughters and great-grandchildren were the highlight of her days. Beverly is survived by her daughters, Christi Dickmeyer (Scott) of Cottage Grove, MN and Whitney Tupper (David) of Lakefield, MN; grand-daughters Justine DesLauriers (Jeremya), Brittany Kitchel, Megan Dickmeyer, and McKayla Dickmeyer; and three great-grandchildren, Jaxon DesLauriers, Jennavieve DesLauriers and Weston Kitchel, who were her pride and joy; half-brother, Bill Penning; nephews, Scot Brady (Dan) and Karl Larson (Kathy); many extended family members and friends. Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, James O’Connor; her grandparents, Eric and Emma Ferber; parents, William Penning and Hildegarde Luff; sister, Karen Larson; and nephew, Michael Brady.
