Betty Swant

Betty Swant, age 88 of Blue Earth passed away Wednesday August 21, 2019 at Parkview Care Center in Wells. A funeral service will be held Monday August 26 at 11am at Patton Funeral Home 400 E 14^th St. Blue Earth with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Elizabeth Ann was born July 24, 1931 to Owen and Ruth (Hall) Swant in Granada Township. She was one of six children. Betty had a great love for music, she enjoyed singing, teaching piano and accordion lessons. But her talents did not stop there; she was an excellent seamstress, and a fabulous cook who loved to experiment with new recipes. In fact, she had a biscuit recipe that her sister to this day could never master! The care and compassion she had for others extended from being a personal care attendant for many years, working at St. Luke’s for 27 years and always remembering to send birthday cards to friends and family.

Those left to pass on her thoughtfulness are her sisters, Evelyne Bell and Ellen Matteson. Brother-in-law Marvin Burrows, sister-in-law Miryam Swant as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding Betty in death are her parents, brother Elvin, sister Eileen Burrows and an infant sister, brothers-in-law Homer Bell and Wayne Matteson.
