Ardis Grimmelman, age 83 of Blue Earth passed away Monday October 14, 2019 at Lakeview Methodist Healthcare. Funeral service will be 11AM Monday October 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Rev. Matthew Lorfeld officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in St. James.
Ardis Lavonne Froehling was born on June 16, 1936 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Herbert and Florence Froehling. As a result of the passing of her Mother and Herbert's service in World War II, she was raised by Albert and Mabel Froehling in St. James, Minnesota. She graduated from St. James High School in 1954 and then obtained a degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota.
Ardis devoted her life to the care of the sick and elderly at St. Luke's Lutheran Home, Nicollet Place and other facilities. She was beloved for her tireless service to those in need as well as her devotion to her friends and family.
In her later years, her greatest joy was being "Grandma Artie" to her granddaughters Ellie and Anna. She was a proud and active member of St. Paul's Lutheran for several years. She enjoyed Country music, playing the piano, and watching movies with friends.
She is survived by sons Steven and David Grimmelman, granddaughters Ellie and Anna, sister Norma Larson and brother Leland Froehling.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Delores Froehling and Cheryl Wilkie and brother Fritz Froehling.
Rest in Peace Ardis. You will be dearly missed by all who know you!
