Funeral services for Ronald Dale Oswald, age 86, Frost, MN will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at United Lutheran Church in Frost. Interment will be held at the church cemetery. Ronald passed away Monday, February 6th, at Banner Hospice in Sun City West, AZ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 10:30 am -1:00 pm at the church with lunch being served during the visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Blue Earth. Ronald was born on July 3, 1930, on a farm in rural Elmore to Ras and Irene (Johnson) Oswald. He was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church and graduated from Frost High School. He began farming and married Joanne Thompson on June 7, 1953, before spending 2 years in Germany servingin the Army. After returning to the U.S. he continued farming with his dad and brother and eventually his son and grandson. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, whether he played them or watched them. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and eventually a shuffleboard player in Arizona, where they wintered for many years. Ronald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne; daughter Nolie (Kim) Kapplinger and their children, Jill (Ty) Huber, Jenny (Tyler) Clementson and Jamie (Kara) Kapplinger;son, Randy (Sue) Oswald and their children, Reece (Anna) Oswald and Sheena Oswald; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Ida Huber, Annie, Brynn and Malena Clementson, Vera, Syneva and Leieta Kapplinger, Ava and Rex Oswald, one brother Dean (Dorie) Oswald and many other relatives and friends.
