Andrea Honken Dontje Walvoord

Andrea Honken Dontje Walvoord, age 101, Blue Earth, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at United Hospital District. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Blue Earth with visitation one hour prior to the service. Online condolences may be left at www.pattonfh.com.Andrea was born August 5, 1915 at Kamrar, Iowa to Arend and Jennie (Karels) Honken. She married Dick Dontje on September 2, 1933 in Blue Earth. After marriage, the couple lived in Gerled, Iowa, moving to Guckeen, Minnesota in 1936. Later moving to Delavan, where Dick passed away on October 29, 1959. Andrea then moved to Winnebago and married Ervin Walvoord on April 23, 1970 and they lived on a farm north of Blue Earth. They retired to Blue Earth and Andrea lived in Blue Earth for a while following Ervin''s death before moving to Parker Oaks Assisted Living at the age of 90. The summer of 2016, she moved to Truman Senior Living.Andrea is survived by daughters, Alice Struss and Janet (Gary) Parno; son, Harvey (Barb) Dontje; step-sister, Merna Karels; step-daughters, Stephanie (Don) Supalla, Dallas Ditzenback; step-daughter-in-law, Marilyn Walvoord; sister-in-law, Darlene Walvoord; grandchildren, Perry (Susan) Struss, Brian (Ann) Struss, Cary (Cathy) Parno, Brad (Ann) Parno, Pat (Connie) Parno, Lisa Coffman, Amy (John) Norman, Debbie (Mike) Rhey, Wade (Sara) Dontje, Todd(Sue) Schneider, Denise Schneider; 26 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter, Linda Schneider; sons-in-law Earl Struss and David Schneider; stepson, Steve Walvoord; 3 brothers, 2 sisters and spouses; 2 step-sisters and step-father Ole Gardis.
