Evelyn Gladys Sansgard

Funeral services for Evelyn G. Sansgard, 92, Blue Earth formerly of Elmore, MN will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St. John''s Lutheran Church, Elmore with Rev. Joel Lintner officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, rural Elmore. Evelyn died at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Patton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services in the church Saturday. Evelyn Gladys Ristau was born on January 1, 1925 on the farm near Elmore to Ernest and Clara (Peter) Ristau. She was baptized February 1st 1925 and confirmed at St. John''s Lutheran Church, Elmore on April 10, 1938. She attended parochial school at St. John''s through 8th grade and graduated from Elmore High School in 1942. On September 13, 1942 Evelyn was united in marriage to Ivan John Sansgard at St. John''s Lutheran Church, Elmore. She helped with farming and milking cows. Evelyn also worked at Osterman''s egg candling plant, the Elmore nursery making wreaths and lays at Christmas, the Drive Inn as a cook, Green Giant in Blue Earth and Osterman''s Supermarket. She loved to play cards and spend time with her family. She was a caregiver to many. Evelyn was known for her delicious pies, cakes, breads and sweet rolls. If a family dropped by at mealtime, she could make a meal for 6 into a meal for 10 in minutes. Evelyn was active in her church and in ladies aid, Aid Association for Lutherans and fund raising for families in need. Ivan and Evelyn enjoyed a 71 year partnership serving their family, church and community.Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Jerolyne (Dale) Packer, Ames, IA, son-in-law, Steven Olson, Inver Grove Heights, son Clair (Audrey) Sansgard, Charles City, IA, daughter, Carol Anderson (special friend, Donovan Nielsen), Mankato; Goddaughter, Betty Ziegler, Clara City; six grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan; daughter, Marilyn, one grandson, one great grandson, a brother (Kenneth), two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.Memorial donations are preferred to St. John''s Lutheran Church in Elmore, St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center or the American Parkinson''s Association.www.pattonfh.com Evelyn Sansgard Memorial Folder
