David John Brown III, age 69, of Albert Lea, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at St John''s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 1:00 PM, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4:00pm-6:00pm Thursday May 11, 2017 at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth and one hour before the service at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comHe was born March 29, 1948, in Saint Paul, MN, the son of David John Brown II and Elaine Jean Peterson. He graduated from Frank B. Kellogg High School in 1966 and Morningside College in 1970. He interned at Naperville, IL for 2 years, after he was called to his first congregation in Blue Earth at Immanuel United Methodist Church and Delavan United Methodist serving until 1982, West Concord & Kenyon from 1982-1995, Ellendale & Geneva United Methodist Church from 1995-2003, McGregor/Palisades Janet C. Memorial United Methodist Church/Flemming/Hill City/Cromwell from 2003-2006, Jackson from 2006-2013, retiring after 40 years in 2013. He is survived by his wife; Rochelle "Shelly" Brown of Albert Lea, sister; Pam Parker of Ladysmith, WI, nephew; Jimmy Peasley of Eau Claire, WI, and son Tyler Swanson, aunt; Marilyn Nelson of Waconia, brother-in-law''s; Darrell (Sharon) Babcock of Rosemont, Wynn (Beverly) Babcock of Oak Park Heights, niece and nephew-in-law''s; Brent, Ross, Mariah (Nick) Hilary (Herb), and Angeline and many cousins.He was preceded in death by his parents; David John Brown II & Elaine Jean Peterson, grandparents, Ruth Brown, David Brown Sr., Philip Peterson, Florence Peterson, aunt''s; Phyllis Anderson, Betty Rust, great uncle; Al Johnson, and uncle, Jerry Nelson.Memorial can be made in David''s name to the American Heart Association or Dachshund Rescue.
