Joyce Lucille Taplin

Joyce Lucille Taplin (Marquardt), age 79, of Blue Earth, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Earth. Interment will take place at Center Chain Cemetery, Fairmont, MN.Joyce was born to Ray C. Marquardt and Lucille S. (Ehrich) on January 1, 1938. She was baptized on February 13, 1938 in Blue Earth, MN and confirmed on July 1, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1955. She spent one year at Mankato State Teachers College. She was employed at Hyde Typewriters and Gardner hatchery. On November 9, 1957, Joyce was united in marriage to Robert Dean Taplin at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore, MN. In December of 1962, Bob and Joyce moved from Fairmont to Blue Earth. She spent her time as a mother and homemaker. She and Bob were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church.Family was important to Joyce. She remembered everyone''s birthday by sending cards and letters. Joyce was also known for her love of clocks.Joyce is survived by her one son, Robert "Bob" Taplin, Jr. and his wife Jan of Mankato, MN; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Taplin from Mankato, Brittany Taplin and her husband Joe Karvonen from Fargo, ND; two brothers, Dennis Marquardt from Le Center, MN, Earl Marquadt from Mason City, IA, two brothers-in-law, John "Jack" Taplin from Granada, MN, Mike Cummings from Florida; one sister-in-law, Betty (Taplin) Grunig and her husband Terry from Truman, MN; her sister-in-law, Jean Taplin from Fairmont, MN ; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bob Sr., two unborn children, one unborn grandchild; her parents, Ray and Lucille Marquardt; parents-in-law, John and Gladys Taplin; one sister, Lois (Marquardt) Cummings, one nephew, Michael Cummings, Jr.; brother-in-law; Tom Taplin; and many aunts and uncles.
