JEANNINE ADELE KITSON, age 86, of Rake, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at St. Mary''s Hospital in Rochester.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Wesley Hafner officiating. Burial will be at a later date in West Rake Cemetery, Rake, IA. Visitation time will be from 1 hour before the service at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.comJeannine Adele Kitson was born June 5, 1929 to Anfin and Georgina (Larson) Halvorson of Rake, Iowa. She and her family lived in Norway for a year in 1936 before returning to settle in Rake. She married Carl Kastner on June 19, 1948. They had two sons, Gary and Gregory, and lived in the Kiester and Bricelyn area where she was a housewife and helped on their farm. She later divorced and married Bob Kitson of Mauston, Wisconsin where they resided until 1994. She was a real estate assistant and housewife. After her husband''s retirement and death she returned to Rake, Iowa to be closer to her family.Jeannine was an avid gardener and home decorator. She loved music, playing piano and singing for church and others. She loved her family, children and grandchildren. We will miss her Norwegian Table Prayer at family dinner celebrations, her lovely smile and soprano voice, her ability to make a "silk purse out of a sow''s ear" talent and our favorite sugar cookies. Most of all we will miss her, she was a grand lady.She is survived by her son, Gregory and his wife, Tammy, grandchildren, Adam (Danielle) Kastner, Kelly (Phillip) David, great grandchildren, Emma and Landon, sister Laurel Mathews and special friend Henry Woodwick.She was preceded by her husband, Robert Kitson, son, Gary Kastner, sister, Rose Faliedes and brothers, Terry and Harlan Halvorson.Memorials suggested to American Heart Association and family.
