Mavis Elizabeth Dahl Egeness

Mavis Elizabeth Dahl Egeness, 92, of Frost, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 11, 2016 at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center of Blue Earth.Memorial service will be 10AM, Friday, June 17, 2016 at the St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the United Lutheran Cemetery of Frost at a later date.Mavis was born June 16, 1923 to Bernard and Susan (Armstrong) Dahl in Bricelyn, Minnesota and according to her mother, was a fussy baby! She grew up in Bricelyn, participated in cheerleading and other school activities while in high school, and graduated from Bricelyn.On March 18, 1944 Mavis married Lester H. Egeness and together raised their two children on the family farm south of Frost. A dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed the farm life and raising her children, and in the late 1960''s Mavis began working at St. Lukes as a member of the catering staff in the dining room. In her later years, Mavis enjoyed counted cross stitch as her main hobby; her work has been viewed and enjoyed by many. She will be remembered for her large and beautiful garden of Hybrid-Gladiolus.She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lester; children, Carol Arndt of Elizabethtown, PA and Paul Egeness of Frost; and many nieces and nephews.Mavis was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald Dahl of Bricelyn; sisters, Francis Helland of Frost, and Joyce Pendergast of Glendive, MT.In Lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the United Lutheran Church of Frost, Minnesota.
