A Celebration of Life for Esther Baxter, 84, Blue Earth, MN will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at the River of Life Worship Center, Blue Earth, MN. Interment will take place at Fairview Memorial Park, Fairmont, MN. Esther died on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center, Fairmont. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Patton Funeral Home, Blue Earth, from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm and one hour before the services in the church.Esther Amanda Lemke was born on April 4, 1932 in Wilbert, MN, the daughter of Otto and Elizabeth (Wessel) Lemke. She attended St. Paul''s Lutheran School in Fairmont and Fairmont High School graduating in 1950. After high school she worked at Fairmont canning factory. She was united in marriage to William E. Baxter on October 22, 1954.They first lived in rural Granada, MN for twelve years and farmed. They moved to Blue Earth, MN in 1967. They had four children, Shelley, Crystal, Robin and Theresa.Esther enjoyed gardening, puzzles, crossword puzzles, Women''s Ministries at her church, embroidery and cloth painting, coloring and especially spending time with her grandchildren.Esther passed away peacefully with her family around her on November 10, 2016, at Lakeview Methodist Health care center in Fairmont.She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Otto Lemke, brothers, Alfred, Victor, Emil and Hubert and sisters, Marcella Nicholson and Irene Robichaud. Her daughter Shelley Schaefer and husband William, her son-in-law, Steve Schaefer.She is survived by her children: Crystal (Jeff) Alfson, of Blue Earth, MN, Robin (Sheldon) Bailey of Rochester, MN, and Theresa (Kyle) Hacklander of Paynesville, MN. Grandchildren: Stacey Schaefer (Todd Keller); Matt Alfson (Lisa); Mitch Alfson; Josh Bailey (Alejandra Vergara); Shelby Bailey; Connor Hacklander, Landry Hacklander, Chantil Hacklander, and Logen Hacklander; great grandchild, Garrett Alfson; brothers, Sylvan (Dolores) Lemke, Reinhold (Lorraine) Lemke; 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Lemke and Maryl Lemke; one brother-in-law, John Robichaud.
