KEITH D WELLS, age 90, of Boone, Iowa, formerly of Blue Earth, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Westhaven Community Assisted Living in Boone, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 10:30 AM, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Russ Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services at the church. (Reynolds) Wells. He was raised in rural Blue Earth and Elmore and was a 1943 graduate of Elmore High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 as a combat veteran who was wounded in action. He returned from his service and was soon married to Marvel Weber on February 18, 1947 in Blue Earth. Keith was a full time lineman with Blue Earth City Power for 32 years and worked partime for 12 additional years. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church until its'' merging with Hope United Methodist Church, where he is currently a member. He held various offices in his church and was a member of the American Legion Post 89, VFW Post 4580 and the Disabled American Veterans. Keith was a 20 year member of the Blue Earth Fire Department and local Ambulance service for 11 years. He was a staff member of Patton Funeral Home for 17 years as well. Keith loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and Marvel enjoyed concerts, plays, traveling and were active dancers.Keith is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Carolyn) Wells of Boone, Iowa, his daughter, Kimberlee (Wane) Souhrada of Stewartville, his grandchildren: Brandon (Melanie) Lee, Justin (Emily) Wells, Collin (Amy) Gaffney, Lisa (Filipe) Olas, great grandchildren: Cody Lee, Brandon Lee, Jr. and Carter Wells.He was preceded in death by his wife, Marvel, brothers: Derald, Virgil, Austin, Carroll & Wilbur "Pat" Wells, sisters: Cleora George, Cecil Gangstee & Lelia Worlie and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Wells.
