DONALD ROBERT STANCL, age 77, of Elmore, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at St. Mary''s Hospital.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015, at 10:30 AM, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth, with Father Peter Klein as celebrant. Burial will be 2:30PM in Bohemian National Cemetery, Owatonna, MN. Visitation time will be Thursday from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 400 E. 14th Street in Blue Earth and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Donald was a teacher and attained his Bachelor of Science Degree in education from Mankato State. He was an EMT, volunteer fireman, was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, PTO, and directed many church choirs and melodramas. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and going to the Indianapolis 500 races.Don is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara, Elmore, MN; one son, Craig Stancl and his wife Marie of Byron, MN; one daughter, Laura Nordlund and her husband Jason of Byron, MN; three granddaughters, Heather, Elizabeth and Amelia Nordlund and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and his fury friends, Indy, Ginger and Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
