Mass of Christian Burial for Sara J. Samek, 68, Blue Earth, MN will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth at 10:30 AM with Father Peter Klein as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. Sara died on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Mayo Health Systems-Fairmont. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Blue Earth. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com.Sara Jane Brudvig was born on October 29, 1946 in Cooperstown, ND to Norris and Margaret Mary (Clancy) Brudvig. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND. Sara went to Dover Country School and graduated from Wimbledon High School. She graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Home Economics. On June 29, 1968 Sara was united in marriage to Vitres Samek at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND. They moved to Blue Earth, MN in 1968. She took a job as the Faribault County Home Extension Agent where she worked for four years. She then left work to raise a family. Shortly after Walmart opened in Blue Earth, she began working in the pharmacy. Sara worked at Walmart for over ten years. She retired in 2005 due to illness. Sara was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth and she belonged to the Joan of Arc Catholic Daughters. Sara liked to quilting, sewing, flower gardening and baking, especially at Christmas. She was a very kind person who always tried to help others. Being a mother was her greatest joy.Sara is survived by her husband of 46 years, Vitres Samek, Blue Earth, MN; one son, David (Carla) Samek, Eagle Lake, MN; three daughters, Kathleen Samek of Holly, MI, Mary Ann (Chris) Pundmann, Garland, TX, Karen (Owen) Holmseth, Nashville, TN; four grandchildren; one sister, Susan Falk, Belle Fourche, SD; one sister-in-law Jan Brudvig, Roseville, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Steve and one brother-in-law, Gaylord Falk.
