Shirley Irene (Pagh) Humburg, 86, of Blue Earth went to be with her Lord and Savior, July 28 2015 at home with her family by her side. Shirley was born June 1, 1929 to Theodore and Ella (Christopherson) Pagh. She grew up in Luck WI, attended Luck High school, then graduated from Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. While in Minneapolis, her love of music drew her to the Central Choral and Christ Church where she sang soprano.This led to her volunteering at Camp Emmaus, where she made lifelong friends, but most importantly, met her husband, Sherman.On Nov. 20, 1955 Shirley Pagh married Sherman Humburg. Together they raised four children, Joel, Daniel, Karen and Linda on the family farm northeast of Blue Earth MN.Early in their marriage, Shirley was an RN and worked at the Blue Earth Hospital. She was the Blue Earth School Nurse, for 21 years and served on the United Hospital District board for 13 years.As a part of an enduring passion for music and service, Shirley was an organist, pianist, choir member and soloist at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She volunteered musically at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center, encouraging many residents in their faith, through her music. She enjoyed Rosemaling, gardening, golfing and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will remember how she cherished Christmas and its true meaning. Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Sherman; children, Joel (Melanie) Humburg of Blue Earth, Daniel (Carol) Humburg of Brookings SD, Karen (Mark) Reier of Stillwater, and Linda (Ken Tougaw) Humburg of Bayport; grandchildren, Ann (Josh) Crofton of Blue Earth, Michael (Marissa) Humburg of Mapleton, Laura (Jay) Rollins of Pemberton, Jacob (Alyssa) Humburg of Brookings SD, Joshua Humburg of Millbank SD, Brian Reier of Bayport and Kristine Reier of Stillwater; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Henry, Eli, Rose, Isaac and Peter; brother, Gary (Betty) Pagh, with many family and friends.Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Naomi Pagh and brother, Rodney Pagh.A visitation will be 3-5PM Sunday Aug 2, 2015 at the Patton Funeral Home of Blue Earth; visitation resumes 9:45am Monday Aug 3 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Blue Earth MN, with music and memorial service beginning 10:45am.
